The KyPSO uses two instruments:
Kentucky In School Transition Survey (KISTS)
The (KISTS) is conducted during the students’ final year of high school. Its purpose is to collect data about student post school plans. It consists of 3 sections, ALL of which must be completed. To access the KISTS, click on the respective section, below:
Kentucky Youth One Year Out (YOYO) Former Student Interview
The (YOYO) is a computer assisted telephone interview conducted with former students one year after high school exit. Its purpose is to collect data about student post school outcomes. Previously (prior to the 2009-2010 School Year) the YOYO was administered by a sample of Kentucky's LEA's. Beginning with the 2009-2010 School Year, all LEA's are required to conduct a YOYO with every student who had an IEP and exited the previous school year. Professional Development opportunities will be made available in early 2010 in order to train LEA personnell in cnducting the YOYO.
By going to "Data Collection" on the left side of this page, and then clicking "Data Collection User Login", you will be able to access a Practice YOYO (once you are registered).
The actual YOYO will be available from April 1, 2010 through June 30, 2010. Before administering the YOYO, you will need to be trained through one of our webinars and pass an online quiz. Look for more about this, including dates for webinars in early 2010.
